Coronavirus has left the world in tatters where a shortage of essential thing is pretty common during the lockdown. One of the symptoms of coronavirus is shortness of breath along with fever and cough but during the lockdown, many are unable to get proper medication. However, famous UK pharmacist Shamir Patel has shared that stocks of the medical device – which has salbutamol sulphate, helps open the airways and relax muscles during shortness of breath.
As the reports say one of the side effects of the novel virus includes battling to breath, many Britons are started buying asthma inhalers for a worst-case scenario as well. Most of the people who have been infected by coronavirus have experienced mild to moderate respiratory problems.
Who needs much protection?
Notably, those have cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer and chronic respiratory diseases are advised to stay at home for at least 12 weeks and asked them not to come in contact with people very often. But stocking up on essential items in this crunch time has become a common thing which included inhalers a well.
Shamir Patel, the consulting pharmacist said: “Over the past few weeks we have seen a surge in people stocking up on the inhalers as a result of Covid-19. The virus is known to block the airwaves and be extremely dangerous to those who suffer from respiratory problems such as asthma, so it is no great surprise that sufferers are adding extra items to their orders.”
He further added, “The inhaler works by relieving symptoms such as breathlessness, wheezing or a tight chest. However, while they are required to have a prescription to purchase the inhalers, we have to limit them to two per person so that they can be equally distributed to those in need.”
However, when a person will experience shortness of breath or an inability to breath, the first thing he or she needs to do is try to remain as calm as possible. The person needs to sit up straight while trying to steady their breath. The best way is to breathe slowly through the nose at this moment.
The Aloe Vera plant is known for its ability to help in better breathing. Its juice of the leaves has six different antiseptic agents like lupeol, salicylic acid, urea nitrogen, cinnamic acid, phenol and sulfur and those work as a cleanser and natural antiseptic as well. Moreover, this can fight several types of infections and bacteria too.
