The famous Nicolas Cage Is also set to lead a new scripted TV series as Joe Exotic, the famous docuseries on Netflix Tiger King, CBS TV Studios has announced on Monday, May 4. Notably, the eight-episode limited series has not yet landed though which is based on Leif Reigstad‘s Texas Monthly article, Joe Exotic: A Dark Journey Into the World of a Man Gone Wild.
The series also made a mark as Cage, 56, has ever starred in the TV show. Moreover, he will also be an executive producer on the series alongside Brian Grazer, Samie Kim Falvey, Dan Lagana, Paul Young, Scott Brown and Megan Creydt as well.
This also follows: “Joe Shreibvogel, an eccentric, exotic zookeeper in Oklahoma who fights to keep his park — even at the risk of losing his sanity. The series will live in the lion’s den with Joe, explore how he became Joe Exotic, and how he lost himself to a character of his own creation.”
Shreibvogel, at the age of 57, was found guilty in 2019 on the charges of animal abuse and two counts of murder for hire as well. However, he has been serving a 22-year sentence in federal jail.
Meanwhile, Netflix’s Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness became a huge hit for the streaming platform and the Nicola Cage-led show is the second series as well where Kate McKinnon will play Big Cat Rescue CEO Carole Baskin — Joe Exotic’s enemy — in an adaptation of the Wondery podcast “Joe Exotic,” which is from the Universal Productions also.

Who else can play in Kate McKinnon’s ‘Tiger King’ spinoff?
For other characters, Kate McKinnon can be an option as she is a wonderful actress and Baskin said Entertainment Weekly recently. The Wondery podcast will explore the breeding, abuse and exploitation of big cats by breeder and exhibitor Joe Exotic as well.
