When we indulge in the course of recollecting the MCU characters, one of the most prominent personalities to stay at the top of our mind has always been Hulk! Well, he’s not just to be recalled who is ranked among the top five roles on the big screen without giving a second thought!
But do you ever wonder what’s the stint behind such fame? However, it’s largely due to Mark Ruffalo‘s astounding presentation as Bruce Banner or the Hulk, as you might say.
The real inspiration behind Hulk: Edward Norton
Now, a revelation has accompanied his nod behind such role who in yesterday’s Tonight Show disclosed to Jimmy Fallon saying he was actually dubious to serve the role and even thought to pass it on! In fact, Mark simply accepted the role from Edward Norton who portrayed the character in The Incredible Hulk long back in 2008. Yes, that was really Edward’s depiction to push Mark for the role frightened on the go. He said, “I was scared..I didn’t know what I could add to what I already thought had been done so well before me.”
To an anticipated vow
The star also upheld his uncertainty pondering if he would fit to be the right choice for a pricy film due to his indie acting stance. And then, Joss Whedon assured him saying, ‘Yeah, you are the right person.”
An appeal which couldn’t be put down in the play: Iron Man
Meanwhile, the news took to Robert Downey Jr. who then summoned Mark as the iconic Iron Man convincing him finally. Mark told, “And then I got a call from Downey – it must’ve made it to him that I was hemming and hawing- and he just simply said, ‘Ruffalo, let’s go! We got this.’ In true Iron Man fashion. And then after that, I was like, ‘I guess I have to do it.'”
Coming next: An admired single
Further, the legacy admitted that his reservations were chased off when he read the scene in The Avengers where Bruce Banner confronts Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow in India. Last but not the least, he expressed his wish of being starred in a Hulk stand-alone film that would project his transformation to “the Bulk” as shown in Endgame.
All we can hope is to see his dreams coming true in the seamless journey.
