As the final day of hearing of Depp’s libel case against News Group Newspapers arrived at the court, the actor’s attorney, David Sherborne made his closing statements on the matter. There he accused the star’s wife of lying about the physical abuse carried by Johnny Depp.

When Mr. David Heard took to narrating behind the scenes within the context, he alleged that the photographs produced by Amber depicting her injuries project “strange colouration and lighting”, that might have been modified with “any number of easy-to-use applications”.

Undermining the reality
He revealed to the legal body, “They [pictures of Heard’s injuries] are taken of an actress, someone who is familiar with the use of make-up, make-up to change your character, make-up to present a fictional scene, make-up to ensure the audience believes what they see before them. But most importantly this, none of the so-called injuries which they are meant to prove have been examined or investigated by anyone remotely professional. That is a striking feature of this case.”

Far from being vocal
Later on, Mr Sherborne told the court about Depp being open about his own drug problems who had a “high tolerance” to drinks. On the contrary, Heard had “deliberately sought to hide or play down her misuse of drink and illegal drugs”.

Baseless claims
Mr Sherborne narrated further saying Heard insisted “medical notes were wrong. They were right when it suited her and wrong when it didn’t. How convenient. Doctors were lying, nurses were lying, police officers were lying. Only Ms Heard was correct, at all times no matter what.”
He even claimed that Heard had hardly spoken about her “propensity to violence. She is the abuser – not Mr Depp. He is no wife-beater.”
The trial would eventually face its end today as the judgement is expected to be handed over by October.
