The famous star Taylor Swift has written an open letter regarding her battle with Scooter Braun and Big Machine Label’s Scott Borchetta in recent times.
The renowned singer is being honoured later this month with the Artist of the Decade Award at the 2019 American Music Awards and she also had a plan on performing a medley of her hit songs throughout the career on the show.
Taylor shared that Scooter and Scott will not let her perform her “old songs on television because they claim that would be re-recording my music before [she is] allowed to next year.”
In the open letter, Taylor Swift also said that she has a Netflix documentary in the hand and they wouldn’t let her use “older music or performance footage for this project, even though there is no mention of either of them or Big Machine Records anywhere in the film.”
Earlier Taylor launched her career on Big Machine Records and the label of its own the first six albums of hers. Therefore she decided to leave that and release her new album Lover with Republic Records. On the other hand, Big Machine bought by Scooter for $300 million earlier this year and that was the worst nightmare for Taylor because they had a bitter past.
“I just want to be able to perform MY OWN music. That’s it. I’ve tried to work this out privately through my team but have not been able to resolve anything. Right now my performance at the AMA’s, the Netflix documentary, and any other recorded events I am planning to play until November of 2020 are a question mark. I love you guys and I thought you should know what’s been going on,” she expressed.
