Avocado Smoothie: A Super Easy Avocado Smoothie Recipe

We all are aware of the goodness of avocados. Avocados are cholesterol-free and contain nearly 20 vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, potassium, folate, and B vitamins. One serving of avocado can easily give you eight percent of the daily value for fiber. Avocados contain the least amount of sugar. Over 75% of the fat in avocados is the unsaturated heart-healthy kind which we call good fats. Often some of the saturated fat in one’s diet is replaced with avocado. It can possibly help to reduce cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, and inflammation. But we suggest consulting a doctor before going on any such diet.

No wonder an avocado smoothie will be as rich as the fruit itself. Moreover, the ingredients go into the making of the green, yummy is simple and basic ones. So you don’t need to wait for anything to get from the market and you can have this delicious healthy drink whenever you wish to.

Ingredients

1 Frozen banana (the riper the sweeter)
2 ½ Avocado
3 ½ cup milk (dairy-free or almond milk)
4 Greek Yogurt
5 Honey/maple syrup
6 Lemon juice
7 Ice (optional)
How to make it?
1. Peel and slice banana.
2. Cut avocado in half and scoop out the meat with a spoon and add to a high-speed blender.
3. Add 1/2 cup yogurt and juice of half a lemon.
4. Add milk.
5. A bit of honey or maple syrup.
6. Blend until the mixture gets smooth.
7. Pour into glasses or jars and serve.

We suggest our readers to use dairy-free milk but it best to use any nut milk, especially almond milk. Almond milk mixed with avocado adds more nutrition value to the drink. The same should be remembered for Yogurt as well. It is always best to use Greek Yogurt for such drinks. You may use plain yogurt, but to maintain the healthiness of the drink try to use dairy-free one. The ones who love extra sweetness can add sugar. But honey is a better option as that will give sweetness to the drink without reducing health benefits. Lemon juice adds flavor and balance the sweetness of the drink. Since you are using absolutely ripe fruit, the drink will be anyway sweet and honey or sugar is there for extra sweetness as well. Avocados generally make a thick drink and added yogurt will make the drink creamy too. So based on the texture of the drink and also on your mood, you may add some smashed ice. But as mentioned in the ingredients list ice is totally optional. Ice can be added after the drink is ready. Add ice, and blend for one final time to get the final smoothie.

Add ons

1. Chia seeds that will add extra antioxidants
2. Protein powder or almond butter. If you are using almond milk, go for protein powder. This works best for the fitness freaks if used after a workout
