Seth Rollins’ recent comeback to Monday Night RAW has injected a significant amount of anticipation and buzz within the fan community.
While he currently finds himself embroiled in unresolved issues with Bronson Reed, rumors have been swirling about a potential showdown between Rollins and the returning CM Punk, with reports hinting that this epic clash may be scheduled to take place at the grand stage of WrestleMania 41.
The prospect of witnessing these two celebrated stars collide in the ring has set the WWE Universe abuzz with excitement and eager speculation.
A match between both men has already been teased
Even if a match between the two men has previously been hinted at, WrestleMania is still far off, thus WWE wants to create excitement among fans gradually.
WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray asked if WWE could wait until WrestleMania 41 to hold a potential Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk fight during a recent episode of the Busted Open Radio show. The Grandest Stage of Them All is where the 53-year-old veteran said he wanted the match to take place the following year.
He said “The question that I have coming out of that face-to-face and that moment in time is can they hold off Seth and Punk until WrestleMania? Because that’s the match I want. I want Seth and Punk at WrestleMania,”
The WWE icon went on to say that the rivalry between Rollins and Punk from Survivor Series: WarGames 2023 has since subsided. Having said that, he remarked that in order to keep fans anticipating a battle between the two men, the organization would need to up the stakes once again.
He added “The animosity has kind of died. Last night in the face-to-face, I felt a little bit of it, but not what it was. So, I’m wondering if they can get back to that. Can they push the buttons again? Can they revisit the same verbiage, the same language? Can they go back in time? I’m wondering if they can get back to that. If they can get back to that, I’m on board. If not, I’m not so sure,”
Seth Rollins clearly has his sights set on his target
Seth Rollins is obviously aiming for CM Punk, who is taking a break following his exhausting Hell in a Cell battle against Drew McIntyre at WWE Bad Blood 2024. A few months back, Bronson Reed killed The Visionary in an ambush.
Rollins has been yearning to meet the 36-year-old celebrity ever since. The former World Heavyweight Champion called out Reed and issued a challenge for a match at any time on this week’s RAW broadcast.
Having said that, fans will now have to wait and see what transpires when Reed and Rollins eventually meet in person.
