Wrestling veteran Jim Cornette, a respected voice in the industry, shares his belief that Shane McMahon is not playing a role in Jon Moxley’s compelling AEW storyline.
Speaking to the intrigue surrounding Moxley, the current AEW World Champion embarking on his fourth reign, Cornette’s insights shed light on the enigmatic direction of the narrative, sparking discussions among fans and insiders alike.
Shane McMahon’s possible move to AEW
A few months ago, Shane McMahon was sighted with CEO Tony Khan, which sparked rumors that he might be joining AEW. Many thought Shane O’Mac might be the higher force forcing Jon Moxley and the rest of the Blackpool Combat Club to wreck the locker room after Moxley’s recent comeback to All Elite Wrestling.
During a recent episode of his podcast, The Experience, Jim Cornette asked if All Elite Wrestling will reveal Shane McMahon. The veteran went on to say that since Jon Moxley won’t allow anybody else manage his affairs, there is no greater power over him.
Cornette said “What landmark event does it take now to get to Shane [McMahon] showing himself. If this wasn’t the place to reveal him if he had anything to do with it… I don’t think that there’s a higher power. I don’t think that [Jon] Moxley is gonna be subservient to anybody in his own fantasy angle here. I think it’s some type of mindset that he’s found and he’s gonna be the f*cking boss of this thing. I don’t think he’s gonna let anyone else be the one to f*ck the dog and him just hold its head.”
Jon Moxley won his fourth world title
After defeating Bryan Danielson, his erstwhile best friend, at AEW WrestleDream, Jon Moxley ended his professional career and earned his fourth World Title. Following the fight, Wheeler Yuta forced The American Dragon to choke on a garbage bag as Moxley ambushed him once more.
On the most recent episode of Dynamite, Jon Moxley and his Blackpool Combat Club teammates viciously attacked the talent, putting the locker room on notice.
