Meredith Gaudreau, who tragically lost her husband and former professional hockey player Johnny Gaudreau in a bike accident on August 31, bravely took to social media to share the heartbreaking news with the world.
Through two emotional Instagram posts, she lovingly honored Johnny’s memory not only as her devoted husband but also as a cherished father to their children.
It was a poignant tribute that touched the hearts of many, as the hockey community and fans alike mourned the loss of such a beloved figure.
“Thank you for the best years of my life”
In the first post she wrote “Thank you for the best years of my life. Despite losing you, I am still the luckiest girl in the world to have been yours. I love you so so much,”
“You were perfect. Some days it felt too good to be true. I love every single thing about you. You are my forever and I can’t wait to be with you again. I love you so much forever and ever.” she added.
Along with her heartbreaking homage to her husband, she shared a carousel of photographs, starting with a photo of herself and Johnny with their two children and progressing through heartwarming moments from the couple’s life together.
In her second post, Meredith praised Johnny as a father, describing him as the best partner and the “apple” of their daughter’s eye, as well as being the best at putting their son to bed.
She wrote “The absolute best dad in the world. So caring and loving. The best partner to go through parenthood with. John never missed a single appointment, Was the best at putting the baby to sleep and the Apple of Noa’s eye. I love how much she looks like him. We are going to make you proud. We love you so so so much daddy.”
Her second tribute to her husband included a series of images of Johnny with the couple’s children — daughter Noa, who turns two in October, and son Johnny, who is seven months old — over the years, including outings and watching him play hockey.
