It seems like the walls of the Royal Palace hold more loss than containing the jingles of joy. Another unfortunate incident befalls the palace on Friday, April 9, 2021, when Prince Philip passed away.
Prince Philip had a soft corner for the newcomers to the royal family. The Royal biographer, Ingrid Sward, in his conversation with Us Weekly stated that Prince Philip was quite aware of the strange protocols and everything else that were needed to be accustomed to surviving among the Royals. He understood what it means to be the new girl in the block or a new boy in the block, and hence, he loved to put a soothing hand over the trembling shoulders and guide them through the labyrinth of complexities. Seward further added that Prince Philip made sure that Princess Diana was not facing any difficulties after she married into the family. He also took utmost care of Meghan Markle when she crossed the threshold hand in hand with Prince Harry.
When Princess Diana joined the royal family in July 1981 after tying the knot with Prince Philip’s and Queen Elizabeth II’s eldest son, Prince Charles, Prince Philips made sure she was never alone in her battle against the aristocracies and strict decorums of the royal family. It has been reported that the Duke of Edinburgh continued to be her guide during her most tough times with the marriage. Eventually, Princess Diana and Prince Philips divorced in 1996, closely followed by her unfortunate death.
Shortly before Meghan Markle tied the knot with Prince Harry in May 2018, the grandfather, Prince Philip retired from his royal duties in 2017. The author of the book ‘Prince Philip revealed’ stated that Prince Philip did not get the same quantity of time with Meghan as he got with Princess Diana, and hence, he could not be a better guide for her. Even though he never failed to welcome Meghan with open arms right into the royal family. He has always been quite comforting to Meghan, firstly because she was a newcomer, and secondly, she was already labeled as ‘divergent’ by the other Royals. He knew her time would be difficult in here.
