Meghan & Harry Adopt “Zero Engagement” Policy With British Tabloids

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have decided to cut all their ties with some of Britain’s renowned tabloids and said that they are going to take a “zero engagement” policy with them, British media shared the news on Monday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are officially out of the Royal family now and they have sent a letter to The Sun, Daily Mail, Daily Express and Daily Mirror on Sunday evening with the details of their new policy which also included the Guardian, Financial Times and ITV News as well according to the report.

Former royal couple to cut ties with British tabloids?

“This policy is not about avoiding criticism. It’s not about shutting down public conversation or censoring accurate reporting,” their representatives were quoted as saying. “Media have every right to report on and indeed have an opinion on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, good or bad. But it can’t be based on a lie.”

However, the Financial Times further added that under the new policy, the tabloids would not receive any updates and photographs from them, and they might also be blocked from attending their media events as well.

Meghan & Harry Donate £90k For COVID-19 Relief From Wedding Broadcast

The couple earlier had moved to Canada after announcing their exit from the royal family in January. After their official exit from the royal family at the end of March, they have now shifted their base at LA. Moreover, they have recently pledged to donate £90,000 to the charity Feeding Britain, which has been providing hot meals and food packages to the needy people amid the global pandemic novel coronavirus outbreak.

The money came from excess profits made by the BBC’s coverage of the royal wedding on May 19, 2018, and they got to know about the funds recently. They wanted the funds to go to a charity and the former royal couple has informed the Archbishop – Justin Welby last month about their decision to donate the money to Feeding Britain.

Feeding Britain gives foods across the UK. They are running an emergency food programme for the families in 12 areas across the UK where hot meals and food packages have been serving via home deliveries.
