Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have vowed to donate £90,000 to the charity Feeding Britain, which is giving hot meals and food packages to the needy. Notably, the money comes from excess profits which were made by the BBC’s coverage of the royal wedding that took place on May 19, 2018, and it was done with an agreement with the BBC as well. However, it was earlier mentioned that the profits were made from the broadcast would go to the charity named by the couple.
Meghan Markle and Harry got to know about the funds amid the coronavirus pandemic which has brought the world into a standstill. The former royal couple wanted the funds to go to a charity which is support by the Archbishop of Canterbury, who organized their marriage ceremony and also the president of Feeding Britain. The couple informed the Archbishop – Justin Welby last month about their decision.
