Mango Smoothie: A Super Easy Mango Smoothie Recipe

Mango smoothie is mostly a summer recipe. But nowadays no fruit is really seasonal. You can always buy frozen mangoes from store to make this delicious smoothie anytime at home. Obviously, seasonal fresh mangoes make the drink tastier and healthier as well.

This is a super easy recipe made using mangoes, obviously and a handful of easy ingredients. The best part is you can make this drink completely dairy-free and sugar-free.

Ingredients

1. Two fresh mangoes or two cups of frozen mango
2. One frozen banana or unfrozen one depends on how the mangoes are if using frozen mango
3. 1/2 cup milk, dairy or dairy-free
4. 1/2 cup Greek yogurt, or plain yogurt- dairy or dairy-free
5. One tablespoon honey
6. Ice cubes

How to make?

This smoothie is super creamy. Most importantly it does not break up when it comes to room temperature from the freezer. And guess the magic ingredient for this recipe? That banana mentioned above in the ingredients list. Yes, the banana makes the perfect, creamy mango smoothie. It doesn’t only excite your taste buds, it also a great source of potassium to the drink.
One must use a frozen banana to get the creamy texture. In case you don’t have a frozen banana, use frozen mangoes. In short, one of the fruits has to be frozen. But the best combination is fresh mangoes and a frozen banana. For sweetening up this smoothie, we suggest you to use extra ripe fruits. Using extra ripe mangoes can be messy, but what’s the harm if you get the best out of it? For the ones having sweet tooth, honey can come to your rescue. That will enhance the goodness of the drink as well and keep the health benefit of the drink intact.

As we mentioned in the ingredient list, you must opt for Greek yogurt to your drink. If you by chance feel like having the smoothie in an odd hour and do not have Greek yogurt on hand, you can use regular yogurt or any dairy-free yogurt. Green yogurt makes the drink creamier and protein-packed. The same applies to use milk as well. Use dairy-free milk or non-fat milk as the idea is to add this drink to your healthy diet. You can always use regular milk, but that’s not something we suggest.
Now peel the mangoes and banana, cut them in small pieces and put in a powerful high-speed blender. In the case of frozen mangoes, just add them to the blender with the banana pieces. Add milk, yogurt, honey, and ice cubes. Honey and ice cubes are optional. In short, put all ingredients together and blend until it is smooth and creamy. Since frozen banana is already going into the blender one can omit the ice. But the ones want the smoothie chilled, put ice along with other ingredients.
