Arsenal’s talented winger, Bukayo Saka, expressed his confidence as he stated that this season could finally see the end of the club’s 21-year Premier League title drought. 

Following an impressive 2-0 victory against reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris St Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday, Saka highlighted the team’s potential to go all the way. The young star’s optimism and belief in Arsenal’s capabilities have fueled fans’ hopes for a triumphant season ahead.

Arsenal finished runner-up in 2022-23 

Arsenal finished runner-up in 2022-23 and carried the Premier League title fight to the final day last season before once again finishing second behind Manchester City. 

This season, the North London team is competitive; currently ranked third in the league, their convincing win over PSG, the French powerhouse, demonstrated their title credentials with goals from Kai Havertz and Saka.

Saka said “I don’t want to put too much pressure on us but I do think that this is the year (that we can win the title),”

“I think we’ve been close the last two years, and we’re getting closer, but this hopefully will be the year.” He added.

“We believe in ourselves, we believe we’re a top team”

Saka, who has made a name for himself at Arsenal and led the team in scoring during the previous Premier League season, stated that the club’s near-misses have fueled his desire for achievement.

He said “[In] previous years, I’ve come runners-up a lot. It’s just that spirit in me that I want to win this season, and of course, I believe in myself a lot, With those two things, it helps. We believe in ourselves, we believe we’re a top team. We showed that tonight (against PSG). I did tell the boys we have to make a statement when big teams are coming to the Emirates.”

On Saturday, Arsenal will play a league game against Southampton, who is currently ranked 19th.
