The outspoken coach stated on Wednesday that he has not given up on Manchester United winning a Premier League championship. On Thursday, Mourinho, who is currently in charge of Fenerbahce in Turkey, will reunite with his old team, United, in the Europa League.

Before the game, he stated that if Manchester City is found guilty of breaking the league’s financial regulations and is deprived of their titles, United might still win the English championship for 2018.

“I think we still have a chance to win that league”

Mourinho said “I think we still have a chance to win that league because maybe they punish Man City with points and maybe we win that league and they have to pay me the bonus and give me the medal,”

Over the course of nine years while it was attempting to become the dominant power in English football, City is facing more than 100 charges. According to league regulations, such sanctions might include a fine, a penalty of points, or even expulsion from England’s top level.

After being acquired by the Abu Dhabi ruling family in 2008, Mourinho guided United to second place in the 2017–18 season, 19 points behind champion City, which the league accused of giving false information regarding its 2009–18 financial situation.

Finishing runner-up with United as one of his finest achievements of his career

After acquiring some of the best players in the world, including Kevin de Bruyne, Sergio Aguero, and Yaya Toure, City became the dominant force in England.

Despite this, Mourinho, who won league titles in Portugal, Italy, Spain, and England in addition to two Champions League trophies while he was at Porto and Inter Milan, has called placing second with United one of his greatest professional accomplishments.

During his two and a half-year tenure at United, he also won the English League Cup and the Europa League.

In an attempt to snap a ten-year wait for the Turkish title, Mourinho joined Fenerbahce in June. In January, he departed from Roma. After eight games, Fenerbahce is currently ranked fourth in its home league

In the most recent Europa League match at Porto, the team Mourinho led to the UEFA Cup championship in 2003, Bruno Fernandes, the captain of United, was sent off after receiving two yellow cards and is serving a one-game suspension.
