Manchester United’s head coach, Erik ten Hag, emphasized the importance of remaining composed and composed, as his team managed to secure a 3-3 tie against Porto with a dramatic last-minute goal in the Europa League on Thursday.

The manager highlighted the significance of staying focused and composed in such competitive moments, acknowledging the resilience and determination shown by his players to clinch a crucial result on the road.

United is winless in its last five matches in European competition

Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund gave United a comfortable 2-0 lead, but they would later give up three goals before Harry Maguire’s header in stoppage time earned them a point.

United, which has lost its last five European games, is currently ranked 13th in the Premier League standings following a dismal start to the campaign.

In a statement, Ten Hag said “I don’t judge us in this moment. I judge us at the end of the season. We are in the process. Just wait. We have to develop this team. We will work and continue. We will fight,”

“You see the spirit and the connection between the staff and the team. The players are together, they have a strong spirit, and they want to achieve. We have a good mentality, but in some defending parts, we have to step up.” He added.

“We started the game very good, we dominated”

For the majority of the game, United was on the defensive, and Bruno Fernandes was dismissed for the second straight game.

Ten Hag stated “We started the game very good, we dominated, scored two goals then we lost control, It’s a tough place to go, we’re coming back from 3-2 and get the equaliser. The team has a strong character, but the middle part, we have to improve.”

Ten Hag had the matter under control, according to Maguire.

He said “I’ve played for this club for six years, I know how it works. When you go on a bad spell, players come under pressure, and also the manager does, He’s experienced enough and been at this club long enough, so I’m sure he knows how to deal with it. It’s part of the privilege you have playing for this club.”

Before the international break, United plays a Premier League match on Sunday against Aston Villa.
