Bayern Munich’s manager, Vincent Kompany, expressed his optimism as he shared his hope for the swift recovery of his star forward, Harry Kane, who sustained a knock during Saturday’s challenging 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen.

Looking ahead to the team’s upcoming second Champions League encounter against the formidable Aston Villa away, Kompany emphasized the significance of Kane’s potential return to the squad, highlighting the importance of having their top striker available for this critical fixture.

Kane was injured in a collision late in the match

After being hurt in a collision late in the Allianz Arena game against Leverkusen, Kane, who did not have a single shot in the game, was clearly in pain as he hobbled off the field.

With four goals from Kane in Bayern’s opening Champions League encounter, the team defeated Dinamo Zagreb 9–2, taking the lead in the standings. Villa is ranked fourth overall.

Kompany said “I’m not a doctor, but I hope it’s nothing serious. It’s still early to say. Hopefully he’ll be fit for Wednesday,”

Bayern sporting director Max Eberl expressed disappointment over Kane’s injury, stating it doesn’t look good for the Bundesliga leader, who currently leads the scoring charts.

He said “If Harry goes off the pitch, then it’s something, Now I hope he’s made of sturdy English wood.”

“It’s probably nothing serious”

Jan-Christian Dreesen, CEO of Bayern, expressed a little more optimism, adding “He took a knock, but as the doctors have said, it’s probably nothing serious. We’ll have to look at it again tomorrow.”

Despite Leverkusen’s strong defensive performance that challenged Bayern and disrupted their flawless start to the season, Kompany managed to identify some positives from the match. Leverkusen’s ability to frustrate Bayern revealed areas for improvement, which Kompany viewed as opportunities for growth and development moving forward.

Kompany stated “As a Bayern coach, you always want to win. But the performance was as we’d hoped. The counter-pressing was positive, we won the second balls, we created so many chances, Normally in such a game, you don’t create many chances, but we did. It was a top game but there are still many games to go. We just have to keep going.”
