The historic venue, undergoing a major overhaul and expansion initiative, is expected to be fully rejuvenated and ready to host the team’s passionate fans once again “by the end of the year,” as confirmed by club representative Elena Fort during a recent announcement on Monday.

The construction roadmap was presented to the press on Monday

The press was granted exclusive insight into the construction timeline of the Catalan giants on Monday. Officials were adamant that the team is making concerted efforts to be back at Camp Nou by the year’s end.

Initially, the revamped stadium will accommodate 62,000 spectators instead of the originally projected capacity of 105,000 upon completion.

The ambitious “Espai Barca” undertaking indicates that once the final pieces, including the stadium roof, are in place, the entire project is expected to reach its pinnacle in the summer of 2026, promising an exciting chapter for the iconic sports venue.

Work on the Camp Nou got underway in June 2023

Barcelona fans eagerly anticipating the upcoming days ahead will soon have the opportunity to secure their place by registering for a six-month partial season ticket, specifically tailored for the latter stages of the upcoming campaign.

Meanwhile, the renovation work at Camp Nou, which commenced in June 2023, encountered delays caused by permit issues and concerns related to working conditions.

Consequently, Barcelona decided to formally request an extension of its contract enabling them to continue using the Montjuic Olympic stadium until March 31, 2025, a prudent measure taken as a precautionary step to ensure a seamless transition and uninterrupted support for its loyal fans.
