During the exciting proceedings of the highly-anticipated Aniplex Online Fest event, which took place this past Monday, fans of the captivating series Solo Leveling were treated to a plethora of thrilling announcements.
Among these announcements was the eagerly-awaited revelation of the release window for the much-anticipated second season of Solo Leveling, accompanied by a visually stunning key artwork that immediately captured the attention of viewers.
Adding to the excitement, attendees were delighted to learn that a Solo Leveling compilation film, titled Solo Leveling -ReAwakening-, is currently in the works. This film will offer a comprehensive recap of the events from the anime’s first season, including a sneak peek at the initial two episodes of the forthcoming second season.
Season 2 is set for release in January 2025
Notably, the second season of Solo Leveling, aptly named Solo Leveling: Arise From the Shadow, is scheduled for an anticipated release in the early months of January 2025, exclusively on the popular streaming platform Crunchyroll.
In addition, fans can also look forward to the theatrical premiere of Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- in both Japan and Korea this coming November, promising an immersive viewing experience for enthusiasts of this exciting series.
Anime Expo took place back in July, when a teaser trailer for the second season was unveiled. For season 2, which will also be animated by A-1 Pictures personnel and continue adapting the manhwa made by DUBU (REDICE Studio), Chugong, and h-goon, director Shunsuke Nakashige will remain in that role.
Along with the main character of the series, Sung Jinwoo, a number of his Shadow Soldiers were also shown in a major visual. Aleks Le and Taito Ban perform Jinwoo’s voices.
In the upcoming months, more details about the cast and crew will be made public, though it’s expected that not much will change.
The second season have to face raised expectations from fans
With the release of the anime adaptation, the mobile game Solo Leveling ARISE, a documentary on the making of the series and its level of popularity, and even a revival of the original manhwa using Jinwoo’s kid as the main character, 2024 has been a very busy year for the Solo Leveling IP.
Following the success of the first season, which was eagerly awaited for years, fans will probably have higher expectations for the second season, even though they will be relieved that more Solo Leveling will be available very soon.
The 12 episode first season of the Solo Leveling anime ran from January to March of 2024. The first season and the behind-the-scenes documentary were available to view on Crunchyroll as they aired.
