'Constantine' Creators Spark the Reason behind Keanu Reeves not Sporting the Brown Coat and Blonde Hair
When our favourite Keanu Reeves played the character of John Constantine in Constantine(2005), the fandom of the comics severely censured the movie owing to Reeves’s look in the particular role. There, the actor didn’t resemble the actual character John Constantine, who gets featured in blond besides possessing a British accent. But now, director Francis Lawrence and producer Akiva Goldsman have explained the reason behind the necessary changes on the screen in a panel discussion at Comic-Con@Home.
When the images depicting Constantine surfaced way back in 2015, producers went to modify the character’s iconic brown raincoat into something more glossy and black, that resembled The Matrix impression. While the majority of the viewers remained unaware of John Constantine’s identity, many admirers later confessed that the movie was worth watching. On the other hand, the diehard fans of the comics turned out to be upset with the implemented alterations in terms of John’s cast.

Recently, Lawrence and Goldsman have voiced that the duo barely interacted about Reeves’ look to reflect on the comic’s version of the character. Francis Lawrence reported that while it came to deciding costumes, one of the greatest changes happened to be the signature brown coat. Then, he told that although they tried the Constantine coat for the role, it finally landed them in opting for a black attire as their motive was to protect the flimsy reality.

Previously, Reeves too dealt with a confusion of portraying the role as he came to wonder about him deserving the particular part in the film.
