On Friday, August 23, Wembley Stadium in London surprised Taylor Swift with a thoughtful gesture to mark her incredible achievement of performing record-breaking 8 Eras Tour shows at the iconic venue.
The special gift presented by Wembley Stadium served as a token of appreciation for Swift’s incredible music and outstanding performances that enthralled audiences and made history at the prestigious venue.
The venue wrote on X “So long, Taylor. It was enchanting ,” next to a picture of the blue-and-black guitar that had been positioned in front of the stadium’s well-known steps and arch.
A note on the guitar referred to as “So Long, Taylor” was a reference to her 2024 Tortured Poets Department song “So Long, London.”
“It’s been a Wembley Love Story,”
The opposing side also has the sentence “It’s been a Wembley Love Story,” which referenced her 2008 song.
Swift played three gigs at Wembley Arena on June 21, 22, and 23 before returning for five more shows on August 15, 16, 17, 19, and 20.
The stadium wrote a message on their website, it read “The special gift was presented to the singer’s team ahead of her final show on Tuesday, along with a note from the stadium team and personalized plectrums. It has since shipped to Nashville in America, as Swift makes her return home,”
A stadium spokesperson said “We were absolutely delighted to host eight of Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour shows at Wembley Stadium,”
He added “The Eras Tour is epic and set to be one of the all-time biggest shows. Taylor’s energy and positivity were infectious. Her fans brought a wave of color and generosity never quite seen before. The entire Wembley team from security through to hospitality enjoyed looking after them, We couldn’t let Taylor leave London without saying a massive thank you to her, and marking what is an incredible achievement for a solo artist.”
“You just made me the first solo artist to ever play Wembley eight times in a single tour,”
Swift had surpassed Michael Jackson’s record for the most nights performed at the same location during his Bad tour in 1988, according to earlier reports.
During her final show, Taylor Swift said “You just made me the first solo artist to ever play Wembley eight times in a single tour, We will never, ever be able to thank you enough for it.”
