Star Lowe, at the age of 60, feels as youthful as a 30-year-old and considers himself fortunate that he has maintained his well-being so effectively. He expresses thankfulness for the dedication he has shown towards living life to the fullest, maintaining good health, and embracing sobriety as essential aspects of his existence.

Number one, it’s spirit”

Lowe says “Number one, it’s spirit. We’ve all met 30-year-olds who feel like they have the weight of the world on them and seem old before their time. And we’ve all met 90-year-olds that have the twinkle in their eye,”

“So, it really is about spirit, enthusiasm, optimism, curiosity and physical vigor. Then you throw in genetics and the fact that I’m not having a glass of wine every night before bed, and it all starts to add up.” He added.

Lowe’s cheerful view, fostered by 34 years of sobriety and a happy family life with his children, Matthew, 28, and John Owen, 30, is also seen in his embracing of a long-term job. Lowe is married to Sheryl, 63.

“I’m a worker bee,” he says. “I will always work. I think it’s important [and] I learn from it. Work fires me up.”

Since 1999, Lowe has been on television, averaging every single season since his role on The West Wing, a fact he takes pride in.

Lowe is juggling three shows across genres

Lowe is currently starring in Fox’s 9-1-1: Lone Star, hosting The Floor, and costaring with John Owen on Netflix’s Unstable, a comedy in its second season.

He says “I’m busier than I’ve ever been and have more interesting opportunities than I’ve ever had,”

Looking back on his 60 years, Lowe acknowledges that his life and profession have gone beyond anything he could have imagined. He says “I mean, the notion of having such a long, great marriage, being sober 34 years, having two healthy, productive, amazing boys, going into my sixth decade, working at this level, I know how rare that is, If I’d have gotten the wishes that I had wished for myself when I was younger, I would’ve sold myself short. I’m super grateful.”
