This past weekend, Ariana Grande served as the presenter of “Saturday Night Live” and played numerous different Hollywood ladies.
The 31-year-old singer of “Positions” stated in her opening monologue that she was merely serving as host and that she intended to keep things “low-key” during the show.
“I’m not gonna do my impressions. . . No Britney Spears today,” she said most likely alluding to her visit on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in 2023, during which she mimicked the “Toxic” singer in a game of musical impressions.
“Wow you look great, Jennifer Coolidge,”
But as soon as Grande got hold of a microphone, she launched into Gwen Stefani, Miley Cyrus, and Spears imitation.
Subsequently, the Grammy winner and Chloe Fineman performed a sketch in which they channeled the 63-year-old Jennifer Coolidge.
Grande and Fineman played the “American Pie” star and made fun of each other while imitating a Maybelline lip gloss advertisement.
The former member of “Scream Queens” portrayed Coolidge’s reflection in the mirror, while Fineman portrayed the actress from “Legally Blonde.”
“Wow you look great, Jennifer Coolidge, Heck yeah!” Grande said in Coolidge’s famous voice.
Grande and Fineman’s portrayal of Coolidge in the sketch showed the Emmy winner getting ready for a date while they made each other feel good.
Dana Carvey even joined in on the fun
Actor Dana Carvey from “Wayne’s World” even got in on the fun by doing his best impression of Coolidge.
Later on in the evening, Grande spiced things up even more by impersonating Celine Dion for a UFC sports promo set to the song “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.” Many of Grande’s followers reacted in the comments section of social media shortly after the impressions video appeared.
She was so accurate with the impressions omg,” one admirer wrote, while another added, “Ariana’s impressions were flawless; she captured every iconic voice perfectly!”
Despite making a good impression, some fans didn’t think Grande captured Cyrus’ voice flawlessly.
“miley’s voice is so unique i don’t think anyone can impersonate her voice correctly ,” one fan quipped, while a second added, “Ariana’s only terrible impression.”
The former cast member of “Victorious” made an appearance on the comedy sketch show over the weekend in order to promote her forthcoming movie, “Wicked,” which opens in theaters on November 22.
