In a recent YouTube and Instagram video discussing his new documentary titled “Brian May: The Badgers, The Farmers and Me,” Queen guitarist Brian May courageously disclosed that he had experienced a minor stroke just a week prior.
Despite this health setback, May continues to stay active and engaged in his music and film projects, demonstrating his resilience and dedication to his craft.
“I didn’t have any control over this arm”
He said “Good news is that I can play guitar after the events of the last few days and I say this because it was in some doubt because that little health hiccup that I mentioned happened about a week ago… it was a minor stroke and all of a sudden, out of the blue, I didn’t have any control over this arm. So was a little scary,”
“I have to say I had the most fantastic care and attention from Frimley Hospital where I went, blue lights flashing… the lot. Very exciting!” He added.
May denied any sympathy for his recent heart attack and stated that he was doing what he was told, which is basically nothing. He was grounded and not allowed to drive, get on a plane, raise his heart rate too high, or have planes flying over him.
May expressed that the good news is that he is “okay” and that he is doing what he is told, which is basically nothing.
May has suffered several health scares in the past
May has previously disclosed in an Instagram video that he tore his gluteus maximus muscles while gardening, which led to his recovery from a heart attack in May 2020, among other health problems.
At the time, he said “I could not believe the pain, Eventually I had another MRI, but this time I had one of the lower spine, and sure enough … I had a compressed sciatic nerve — quite severely compressed — and that’s why I had this feeling that someone was putting a screwdriver in my back.”
Despite being considered healthy, he revealed he experienced a minor heart attack while treating backside pain.
“It’s not something that did me any harm. It was about 40 minutes of pain in the chest and tightness and that feeling in the arms and sweating,” he explained.
May, who underwent eye surgery in May 2021, nearly died in October 2020 due to shocking complications from heart attack medication, as reported by Good Morning Britain.
He added “The worst thing that happened was a stomach hemorrhage and I lost an awful lot of blood. I was wiped out, couldn’t get across the floor,”
