Amazon Provides Free Prime Membership And Raises Average Salary For Warehouse Employees

On Wednesday, Amazon made a significant announcement regarding its hourly warehouse workers by implementing a wage increase and introducing a new perk. 

This new perk includes granting the workers a complimentary subscription to Amazon Prime, providing them with access to a range of benefits at no extra charge. 

The move aims to enhance the overall compensation package and support the well-being of their employees.

Amazon plans to increase its average starting pay for front-line employees 

Starting this month, Amazon has announced an increase in the average starting pay for front-line employees in the U.S. The average hourly wage will see a rise to more than $22, up from approximately $20.50. 

This move is aimed at enhancing compensation and recognizing the dedication of their crucial front-line workforce.

Amazon has announced that in addition to their existing benefits, employees will soon have access to the Prime subscription service as part of their package, starting from early next year. 

Valued at $140 annually, the service provides various perks such as fast shipping and video streaming, offering members a range of convenient benefits.

Amazon also hiked wages for its contracted delivery drivers

Last week, Amazon announced a significant wage increase for its contracted delivery drivers, raising their hourly pay to approximately $22. This adjustment is part of the company’s substantial $2.1 billion investment into its third-party logistics program for this year. 

The decision showcases Amazon’s commitment to investing in its workforce and enhancing its overall delivery services.
