Brad Pitt chooses Tango in Paris

Ahead of new Quentin Tarantino film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Brad Pitt was asked about the film he would love to have starred in. And guess what! His answers came as a surprise and raised a few eyebrows.

Pitt surprises Robbie

Brad Pitt was being interviewed alongside Margot Robbie when Heatworld’s Lucy Ford asked Pitt and Robbie which film they’d most loved to be acted into. After a moment of hesitation, Pitt opted for infamous 1972 drama Last Tango In Paris. “I immediately went to Last Tango – what does that say about me?” he twinkled. To Pitt’s surprise, Robbie said that she had never heard of the film name and Pitt was surprised. He said, “Oh, my friend, we’ve got to catch you up on that. Brando. It’s gonna hurt. That one hurts.”

Tarantino’s new film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is already out in the US and will be released in the UK on August 14. This film sees Leonardo Di Caprio’s fading actor Rick Dalton uniting into several classic films and television shows.

Not a ‘great’ Tango

Directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, Last Tango in Paris gave birth to a huge controversy in 2007. Marlon Brando’s co-star Maria Schneider revealed that the film’s rape scene involving her character “wasn’t in the original script”. It was improvised by Brando on the spot. Later Bertolucci agreed to the same. Schneider was “left in tears” after being “forced” to participate in the scene. She told Daily Mail that she felt that she has been raped both by the co-actor and the director. She revealed that, “After the scene, Marlon didn’t console me or apologise. Thankfully, there was just one take.”
The actress took her last breath in 2011. But before that In the wake of Schneider’s comments, Bertolucci, who died in 2018, described the controversy as “a ridiculous misunderstanding”.
