Angelina Jolie Not Happy with the Judge of her Divorce Case, wants his Removal

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie used to surprise fans with their couple goals when they were together and now their divorce case is one of the most talked in the industry. The divorce of one of the most famous stars in Hollywood it’s going to be one of the longest-running divorce battles in Hollywood history as well.

On Monday, Angelina Jolie claimed that the private judge overseeing her divorce from Brad Pitt and also said that the judge should be disqualified from the case as he failed to give a conclusion because of his business relationships with one of Brad Pitt’s attorneys.

Jolie wants the judge’s removal

Jolie, who has filed a complaint in Los Angeles Superior Court, has said that Judge John W. Ouderkirk should be removed from the divorce case that she filed in 2016. And she gave the reason as he was late and not giving any closure of the work he was hired for because of the involvement of Pitt’s attorney Anne C. Kiley.

It reveals that during the Jolie-Pitt proceedings Ouderkirk has ‘failed to disclose the cases that demonstrated the current, ongoing, repeat-customer relationship between the judge and Respondent’s counsel.’

It further says that Pitt’s attorney ‘actively advocated for Judge Ouderkirk’s financial interests in moving – over the opposing party’s opposition – to have his appointment (and his ability to continue to receive fees) extended in a high profile case.’

Like many, both Pitt and Jolie have hired a private judge for their divorce case to keep many of its personal and financial details within them only, apart from those which are needed for the standard court procedure.

However, Jolie’s filing says that a private judge should follow the same rules of disclosure and conflict of interest that other judges have been following. Moreover, Jolie’s attorneys have asked in private proceedings to his removal, Pitt’s side has insisted to keep him in the proceeding.

Both Angelina Jolie, 44, and Brad Pitt, 56, fondly known as ‘Brangelina’ were together for 12 years and also married for two where they share six children as well. However, it was in 2016 that Jolie filed for divorce.

In April 2019, they were declared divorced, and she stopped using Pitt in her name after their lawyers asked for a bifurcated judgment which means they can be declared single despite being married while other things, including finances and child custody, remain same.
