According to recent reports, Kate Middleton is said to be harboring lingering feelings of bitterness and anger towards Meghan Markle and Prince Harry even now, in the aftermath of their highly publicized and controversial interview with Oprah Winfrey that took place in 2021.
These unresolved emotions are believed to have created a significant strain on the relationship between the royal family members, as Kate struggles to come to terms with the revelations made during the interview.
“Kate has drawn a hard line in the sand”
A source stated “Kate has drawn a hard line in the sand — she’s not changing her mind about them, They never apologized for their lies. But it’s harder for William because Harry is his brother. It’s a horrible situation all around.”
The strained relationship between Harry and William is well documented, especially in light of Harry’s admission in his memoir Spare that he was “shaken” after a furious disagreement with William at the Sandringham Summit. There are rumors that William would be amenable to a reconciliation in spite of this.
“But Kate feels that Harry and especially Meghan have done enough damage to the royal family and will do even more damage if they’re let back in,” the source added.
Kate had made several efforts in the past to reach out to Harry
According to reports, Kate reportedly tried multiple times in the past to get in touch with Harry. She had been calling Harry in the middle of the night to reassure him that he would overcome the challenges.
The source said “Kate has been in touch with Harry to tell him to keep his chin up and not worry too much about these temporary setbacks, She feels very sorry for him right now. Seeing him go through all these setbacks is very difficult to witness and it tugs at her heartstrings — especially as his court trial is taking place so close to their home.”
Tensions between the Sussexes and the Royal Family increased during their Oprah appearance. Harry said he was disappointed with his father, and Meghan said Kate had brought her to tears.
The biracial woman Meghan and their son Archie were depicted in the interview as being treated with insensitivity by the royal family due to their race.
In an interview, Meghan said “Separate from that, and what was happening behind closed doors was, you know, we knew I was pregnant. We now know it’s Archie, and it was a boy. We didn’t know any of that at the time. We can just talk about it as Archie now.”
