Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatsApp is gearing up to elevate its artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot functionalities by incorporating a cutting-edge two-way voice chat feature.

Recent reports suggest that this upcoming innovation will enable users to engage with the Meta AI chatbot through spoken interactions, featuring voices mimicking various public figures.

This integration aims to provide a highly customizable and immersive experience, personalized to users’ preferences and ensuring enhanced engagement with the platform.

Users will soon have access to a range of voices

Multiple speech possibilities for Meta AI are anticipated in the soon-to-be voice chat functionality, as mentioned in a recent update by WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo.

Although beta testers on Android are not yet allowed to use the function, the tracker’s report indicates that users will soon be able to access a variety of voices, including those of well-known figures.

According to screenshots from the beta version, the Meta AI voice function would provide a range of voices with various accents, tones, and pitches, enabling users to have a personalized interaction experience.

This development marks an exciting advancement in WhatsApp’s AI capabilities

Users will reportedly soon have the option to select from a variety of voices, including those with US and UK accents. The feature is claimed to include voices of popular personalities, such as influencers or celebrities, while specifics regarding the gender or regional accents of these voices are still unknown.

Meta has introduced a new voice feature for WhatsApp, following its previous efforts to incorporate AI personalities into its messaging platforms. The new feature mirrors the personalities of influencers and celebrities, aiming to enhance user engagement with AI-driven interactions.
