Taylor Swift will end her European leg of her “Eras” tour in London on Thursday, with around 90,000 fans expected to attend Wembley Stadium for the first date in the five-day run, following a cancellation of her Vienna concerts due to a suicide attack plot.

Following the discovery of an assault plan including explosives and knives, a plan inspired by the Islamic State was uncovered last week, leading to the cancellation of the American megastar’s three scheduled performances in the capital of Austria.

Three people have been detained on suspicion of organizing the heinous act

US intelligence assisted in foiling the tragedy, which resulted in the arrest of three alleged supporters of the Islamic State.

London’s Metropolitan Police commented that “nothing to indicate that the matters being investigated by the Austrian authorities will have an impact on upcoming events here in London”.

The police are collaborating with venue security teams and other partners to ensure proper security and policing plans, and fans are being warned about additional ticket checks around Wembley’s stadium.

“We have a huge amount of experience in policing these events,”

Swift is set to return to London after three sold-out shows in June. This comes two weeks after three young girls were killed in a stabbing at a dance class in northwest England. Swift expressed shock and sympathy to the families.

London’s mayor Sadiq Khan has confirmed that the city will continue to collaborate with the police to ensure the safety of Taylor Swift’s concerts in London.

Khan also said “We have a huge amount of experience in policing these events, we’re never complacent, many lessons were learned after the awful Manchester Arena attack,”

He was making reference to the bombing that occurred at an Ariana Grande performance in 2017 and claimed 22 lives, some of them were minors.

Additionally, attendees who do not have tickets will not be permitted to “tay-gate,” which is the term for Swift fans who wait outside the venue to listen to the song during the live performance.

Swift will return to North America after completing the European portion of her historic tour, which started in Paris in May and saw her play all over the continent. In Miami on October 18, the last part of the journey begins.
