Katie Ledecky Wins 13th Olympic Medal As America Gets Silver In 4X200 Relay

American women won silver in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay, with Katie Ledecky taking an all-time 13th medal. 

The team, including Ledecky, Weinstein, Madden, and Gemmell, placed second behind Australia, who won an Olympic record time of 7:38.08. China won bronze.

Ledecky, a 27-year-old swimmer, won a silver medal in the 800-meter freestyle at the Paris La Défense Arena, surpassing any other woman in Olympic history. She can add to that total Saturday in her final event, the 800-meter freestyle.

The team of four U.S. women stepped on the podium in unison, raising their hands as a team, and the medal was officially presented to Ledecky’s neck at 10:33 p.m. local time.
