It is a low possibility that either Jerami Grant or Anfernee Simons will not be moved, as they are expected to be gone before training camp. They may wait until the trade deadline to see if someone else offers more, as they have time to consider their options.

Jerami Grant to Lakers?

Portland Trail Blazers forward Jerami Grant, a veteran on a rebuilding team, is expected to be a subject of trade rumors for the rest of his tenure in the Pacific Northwest.

Grant might move to Hollywood with a three-team trade involving the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers, according to Bleacher Report writer Andy Bailey.

In This trade Blazers Receive will Gabe Vincent, Jarred Vanderbilt, Jett Howard, a 2025 first-round pick from Orlando (via Denver) and a top-three protected 2029 first-round pick from Los Angeles.Blazers will Lose Jerami Grant and a 2028 second-round pick (via Golden State).

Portland is acquiring multiple draft picks, unrealized potential from Jett Howard, and veterans Gabe Vincent and Jarred Vanderbilt in a trade. The Blazers are likely to struggle with the West’s worst record this season, and Grant’s contract, which runs through 2027-28, is a bad thing for a rebuilding team. This deal provides Portland with multiple draft picks and potential for growth.

Simons ‘need’ a trade

The Portland Trail Blazers have been quiet during the offseason, with starters Anfernee Simons and Jerami Grant remaining on the roster. However, rumors and articles suggest another trade before the season starts.

Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz highlighted the top five players under 25 in need of a trade, with Simons at the top. Swartz argued that Portland’s prioritization of young guards created too much positional overlap for Simons, but he believed the high-scoring guard could be of better service in a new situation.

Simons, a versatile player with a career-high 22.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 38.6% of his three-pointers last season, is expected to be better in a contender’s starting lineup.

He is a high-volume floor-spacer, ranking sixth in made threes per game and 42.7% in catch-and-shoot opportunities.

Portland is likely to trade Simons for a young wing or draft assets, as they are looking to deepen their roster and closer to the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 draft class.

The Blazers should focus on the Scoot/Sharpe rebuild to free up starting backcourt spots, add more assets, and improve lottery odds for next year.

Simons’ team-friendly contract is most valuable to trade soon, as it will be more valuable than an expiring deal next offseason.
