Katy Perry has recently revealed one of the toughest times she has confronted in the past as the pop star recollected her short split from Orlando Bloom three years ago. In the latest interview with SiriusXM’s CBC Radio One, the legend disclosed how her smile depended on the apparent fantasy of her careerist goals as she questioned the authenticity of her emotions. She said, “I lost my smile. I don’t know if my smile was ever fully, authentically mine but I was riding on the high of a smile for a long time. Which was the validation, love and admiration from the outside world… and then that shifted.”

Admitting the unprecedented failure

Then she went on detailing the move’s impact on her personal stance which was hardly felt from outside. Although she tried to soar high in her ambitious career, her expectations couldn’t just match the earthly reality and the consequences were really tragic at the end.

The celeb told, “My career was on this trajectory when it was going up, up and up, and then I had the smallest shift, not that huge from an outside perspective. But for me it was seismic. I had broken up with my boyfriend, who is now my baby-daddy-to-be, and then I was excited about flying high off the next record and the record didn’t get me high anymore. The validation didn’t get me high, and so I just crashed.”

Embarking on a broadened vision

But then she conceived that it was rather a significant juncture to shape her personality that might dawn into a new beginning with a varied perspective. At that time, her goal was to explore the unknown avenues embedded in her life deviating from the other desperate means to find happiness. She explained, “It was so important for me to be broken so that I could find my wholeness in a whole different way. And be more dimensional than just living my life like a thirsty pop star all the time.”

Being grateful

Lastly, it was the bliss of gratitude that she welcomed to open her blind eyes. From the time onwards, she has embraced meaningfulness to accompany her during devastating phases.

Katy elaborated, “Gratitude is probably the thing that saved my life because if I didn’t find that, I would have wallowed in my own sadness and probably just jumped. But I found the ways to be grateful. If it gets really, really hard I walk around and say, ‘I am grateful, I am grateful’ even though I am in a s–t mood.”
