The base of this alfredo sauce owes its origin to cashews which are soaked overnight. Other ingredients comprise of garlic, lemon juice, onion, nutritional yeast and some herbs that need to be tossed in a blender in high speed until creamy and atoned.
This sauce turns thick when stored in the fridge or when used for cooking purpose. To dilute it in that case, add water.
The ingredient to strike a marvellous cheesy flavor in this alfredo sauce without any cheese content happens to be nutritional yeast which is actually small little flakes of deactivated yeast. that provides a nutty, cheese-like flavor to the side dish. Besides, it also comes with a significant source of B Vitamins!

• 1 cup raw cashews (overnight soaked, drained and flushed)
• 3/4 cup water
• 2 garlic cloves (peeled)
• 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
• 1/2 cup onion (diced)
• 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
• 1 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp rosemary (dried)
• 1/4 tsp black pepper
1. Soak the cashews throughout the night for at least 6 hours, draining and rinse them completely, so that excess water can get rid off.
2. Add the cashews and all other ingredients to a blend in high speed, smashing until smooth.
3. and use the yield immediately in a recipe. Else store it in a sealed container keeping in the fridge.
The mentioned quantity would yield 1 cup of sauce approximately.
