If we go by the new biography of the royal couple, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry perceived that the Queen’s statement on Megxit “lacked warmth” besides implying a hidden meaning at the juncture.
When the duo revealed their plans to carve an independent life by taking on Instagram, the announcement was hardly noticed by their royal relatives. Meanwhile, following the shock, the Queen was compelled to release a short statement.
The Queen Interrupted in Megxit to Shed a Tough Light on Prince Harry
As authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand of the upcoming tome came to address the context, they wrote, “[Meghan and Harry] had seen a draft of what Buckingham Palace planned to put out in a statement that would follow theirs and its “lack of warmth” was a clear sign that not everyone supported their decision.”
Her majesty also conducted a series of debates, discussions along with a crisis meeting that got attended by Prince Charles as well as Prince William. Soon after the brainstorming moments, she released another message breaking the imperial tradition and mentioned the couple’s first names rather than their official titles.
Her statement read, “Today my family had very constructive discussions on the future of my grandson and his family. My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family.

Harry and Meghan have made clear that they do not want to be reliant on public funds in their new lives. It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the UK. These are complex matters for my family to resolve, and there is some more work to be done, but I have asked for final decisions to be reached in the coming days.”
