 Meta, has recently, been in the air of discussions with actors such as Awkwafina and Judi Dench, including influencers, for the right to use their voices in its new Meta AI digital assistant product.

Meta is working on improving its social networking 

Meta is growing rapidly, owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, and has increased heavily in artificial intelligence in the past years. Meta has plowed billions into innovation and technology. It is working on improving its social networking apps and advertising business, including by creating artificially intelligent characters that could chat through text across its messaging apps.

As per the news Apart from the actresses, Meta is in a talk with comedian Keegan-Michael Key, among other celebrities, and Hollywood’s top talent agencies, involved in negotiations. If the deal goes as per their expectations, Meta could pay millions of dollars in fees to the actors. However, details such as who may sign on are still uncertain.

Meta deals to record the voices of the celebrities 

One of the A.I most renowned, OpenAI, uncovered the latest version of ChatGPT chatbot that immediately receives and responds to voice commands, images, and videos. It was part of a wider effort to combine conversational chatbots with voice assistants like Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri.

OpenAI suspended the release of its voice-related Chat GPT after actress Scarlett Johansson accused the company of using a voice “eerily similar to mine” despite her refusal to participate in the product.

Meta is stepping in to strike deals with celebrities in a way that avoids ticking off top talent. Under the terms of the proposed contract, Meta would record the voices of these celebrities for potential use in Meta AI, which users could interact with and ask questions across Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger, as well as Meta’s Ray-Ban augmented reality glasses. 

Moreover, The deal would be for some time decided and could be renewed or terminated when the contract expires. Actors would not release the rights to their voices indefinitely.
