On Thursday, Nvidia, the leader in computer graphics and AI accelerators, presented various technologies at its GeForce RTX AI PC tour in Bengaluru, set to transform video gaming and game development. The company showcased RTX-powered solutions like Nvidia Ace and Digital Humans, designed to enhance immersion and personalization in gaming, utilizing Nvidia graphics cards already popular in gaming PCs and laptops.

Nvidia Highlights Superior AI Performance

Nvidia announced that PCs with GeForce RTX graphics cards can achieve AI performance between 200 and 1,300 trillion operations per second (TOPs), significantly exceeding the AI capabilities of laptops with dedicated NPUs, which usually reach a maximum of 45 TOPs.

Nvidia also reported that over 100 million users have RTX graphics installed on their PCs, allowing them to utilize various AI solutions. The company highlighted that its graphics cards are compatible with more than 500 AI software and solutions.

Currently, there are over 370 RTX AI games that support advanced features like DLSS 3 (AI-based upscaling), RTX Remix (an AI tool for game modding), LLM gaming advisors, and Nvidia Ace for gaming. Additionally, more than 125 RTX-powered apps utilize AI for tasks such as photo and video editing and image generation. Nvidia RTX GPUs are also compatible with major open-source large language models (LLMs) like Google Gemini, Llama 2, Mistral, and OpenAI Whisper.

Nvidia claims its RTX 4090 laptop GPU is the fastest AI accelerator available, delivering double the AI performance of the Apple MacBook Pro with an M3 Max chip. This performance enables faster on-device chat experiences powered by large language models (LLMs) with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and enhanced video conferencing capabilities through Nvidia Broadcast.

Nvidia Showcases AI-Powered Features

Nvidia also demonstrated several RTX AI-powered features, including Nvidia Ace, which enhances games like Mecha BREAK by using a small language model to improve the conversational abilities of in-game characters. In Legends, Nvidia Ace enables characters to recognize people and objects through AI-powered vision capabilities.

Nvidia is promoting its digital human technology, powered by a large language model (LLM), as a means to bring digital characters to life. This technology utilizes the NVIDIA NeMotron-4 (NIMs), a small language model with 4 billion parameters.

For video game development studios, Nvidia offers solutions like NVIDIA Omniverse Audio2Face, which allows developers to create facial animations and lip sync directly from an audio source.

Nvidia provides several AI tools for GeForce RTX users, including ChatRTX, which allows users to run their own large language model (LLM) with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) functionality, enabling an offline chatbot that protects personal data. Additionally, Nvidia Canvas can turn simple brushstrokes into realistic images.
