Ben Stokes,33, the England cricket captain sustained an injury while playing for the Northern Superchargers in The Hundred, requiring assistance to leave the field. This has sparked concerns about his potential absence from the upcoming test series against Sri Lanka.

The Captain of the England Cricket 

Ben Stokes is an English cricketer and captain of the England Test team, born on 4 June 1991,  widely regarded as one of the best all-rounders in the sport. He is known for his aggressive batting, dynamic bowling, and exceptional fielding. Stokes plays for the England national team and has been a key player in many of their recent successes, including the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup, where he played a crucial role in England’s victory. 

Ben made his ODI and T20I debuts in 2011, and his Test debut in 2013. In 2019, he also won the ICC Award for Best Men’s Cricketer and the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award. 

Sustained an Injury 

In his recent match, Stokes while chasing a target of 153 against Manchester Originals at Old Trafford pulled up while running between the wickets as the Superchargers. Stokes was seen grabbing his left hamstring as he was completing a quick single from the non-striker’s end and had bowled 15 overs in the match, retiring hurt on two runs with England teammate Harry Brook came in his place.

Asked about Stokes, “It doesn’t look great unfortunately but I think he’ll be getting a scan tomorrow (Monday) and see how he is.”Brook told Sky Sports

England Wins Against West Indies 

Last month, Stokes led England to a 3-0 series win against the West Indies. On August 21, England opened its test series against Sri Lanka at Old Trafford, with the third and final test at the Oval from Sept. 6.

Ben Stokes was with his teammates on the bench Sunday, watching as the Northern Superchargers secured a seven-wicket victory. Despite being on crutches, he participated in the post-match routine, shaking hands with the opposition.
