Researcher Confirms COVID-19 Vaccine’s Human Trial Results Will Come in June

The entire world is currently fighting against the global pandemic novel coronavirus. With every passing day, the death toll has been increasing by COVID-19 but we are getting closer to a probable cure as well. However, a few weeks ago we have witnessed the team at Oxford University was developing its vaccine and also underwent human trials under the guidance of Sarah Gilbert.

In fact, the researchers also shared that another study revealed that monkeys didn’t contract COVID-19 after being injected with the vaccine, which shows more positive signs within the vaccine. Meanwhile, Sir John Bell, Regius Professor of Medicine at Oxford University, in a recent conversation with NBC News has revealed that researchers could get an idea about the effectiveness of the vaccine for human use by the next month.

Oxford vaccine against coronavirus

In a conversation during NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’, Bell cited that researchers could collect some data from phase two trials to get a solid base for the success of the vaccine by June. He also thinks the developing process of the vaccine is ‘pretty good’.

He stated, “we are gradually reeling it in, bit by bit and as every day goes by, the likelihood of success goes up. If the disease peters out in the U.K., we have sites already in play in other parts of the world where it’s active.”

He also said that the fact of how COVID-19 is different from the normal flu. He further added that it doesn’t mutate at the pace of flu but it’s a tricky one for long-term immune responses to it and as a result, people may need to have relatively regular vaccinations against coronavirus in the future.

He again said the fact that the team at Oxford has been making sure that the safety of the people is the prime concern.

World’s First Device Developed To Monitor COVID-19 Symptoms

On the other hand, the lead researcher Professor Sarah Gilbert shared their ‘ChAdOx1’ vaccine can work against the COVID-19 named SARS-CoV-2. Professor Gilbert has also mentioned earlier that said she was quite confident of the vaccine’s success as well.
