U.S. TO Deploy More Warships, Fighter Jets To Middle East

Amid the growing tension between Iran and Gaza in the Middle East, Lebanon and Yemen to attack Israel to avenge the death of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh. On the other hand  Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III has announced that it was sending more combat aircraft and warships to the Middle East. 

An additional Squadron of Air Force F-22 fighter jets

The Pentagon said the military will send an additional squadron of Air Force F-22 fighter jets. In addition, a number of additional Navy cruisers and destroyers capable of head off ballistic missiles, more land-based ballistic-missile defense systems to the Middle East, if needed

“Austin has ordered adjustments to U.S. military posture designed to improve U.S. force protection, to increase support for the defense of Israel, and to ensure the United States is prepared to respond to various contingencies,” the Pentagon said in a statement.

Austin declared to rotate in the USS Abraham Lincoln Carrier strike group to replace it. However 

There had been speculation that the Pentagon might not replace the USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier strike group in the Middle East once it completed its ongoing arrangement. 

We will be bolstering our force protection in the region

Ms. Singh, in a news conference earlier, had raised the probability of sending additional troops by  the United States, whatever additional capabilities the Pentagon sends to the region nonetheless the support, she said, would be defensive in nature.

She said in a phone call, Mr. Austin held with his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Gallant. Mr. Austin “committed” that the United States would help Israel in its defense. “We will be bolstering our force protection in the region,”
