Oscars 2020: LDC Makes His First Public Appearance With Girlfriend Camila Morrone

Leonardo DiCaprio brought his special date to the 2020 Oscars who received his nomination as the Best Actor from Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The 45-year-old hunk didn’t hesitate to bring his girlfriend, the Mickey and the Bear actress Camila Morrone to join him Sunday night. Camila, who’s in her 22nd year was spotted sitting next to Leo during the Oscars’ opening number when the Titanic actor was engaged in a brief call-and-response song with Janelle Monáe.

A Rupture In The Style: DiCaprio

Leo has always walked the carpet with his mom, Irmelin Indenbirken in the former years, particularly when nominated for a big accolade who told ABC back in 2016 that bringing his mom has been his way of thanking her to take him to auditions every day after school when he was young.

The Mass Reaction

After that, many folks conceived it to be a really big deal that the couple decided to attend the ceremony together instead. One viewer wrote, “Leo DiCaprio coming with his girlfriend Camila Morrone instead of his mom already made my day.”

While another tweeted, “Camila and Leo together at the #oscars omg I’m screaming.”

Individual Recognition

According to E! News, Leo and Camila have been dating for more than two years after their first meeting in late 2017. While the couple has kept their relationship pretty secret, Camila told the Los Angeles Times about her hope that fans will look beyond who she’s dating, considering her acting stances.

She said, “I think more and more now that people are seeing the film, I’m slowly getting an identity outside of that. Which is frustrating because I feel like there should always be an identity besides who you’re dating … I understand the association, but I’m confident that will continue to slip away and be less of a conversation,” while promoting Mickey and the Bear.
