In a collaborative Instagram post, Miami Fire Rescue and the Coral Gables Fire Department shared a video of the rescue, which occurred after fire teams were notified at 9:15 a.m.

The video depicted firefighter paramedics ascending to the third floor of the garage, using harnesses to access the vehicle and safely extract the woman. A crane was subsequently employed to lift the SUV out of the parking garage.

Aerial footage from NBC South Florida captured the white Porsche nearly hanging off the edge, entangled in nearby trees beside the garage.

“Pressed The Accelerator By Mistake”

According to Coral Gables Fire Rescue Chief Xavier Jones, the incident happened after the woman “accidentally pressed the accelerator,” as reported by CBS News. “It looked like the lady pressed the accelerator by mistake and went through the wall. She got very lucky that when the car went through the wall, it landed in a tree,” he told the outlet.

“We are able to rescue her in 20 to 30 minutes. We had a firefighter lowered by a rope to the vehicle and we rescued her from there. Amazing work by Coral Gables with assistance from the city of Miami,” Jones continued.

Authorities stated that the woman was taken to the hospital but is uninjured, according to CBS News.

Coral Gables Commissioner Ariel Fernandez commented on Instagram after the incident, “Grateful for the incredible work today by our @coralgablesfire along with teams from @miamifirerescue and @miamidadefirerescue in rescuing a driver whose car crashed through a parking garage barrier and onto a tree.”\
