A leading gameplay platform in North America, PlayVs has renewed and expanded its partnership with Nintendo of America. expanding its collaboration for the fourth year and giving more opportunities to middle schools as well as to high schools across the United States and Canada.

The CEO of PlayVS, Jon Chapman said: 

“The renewal of our partnership with Nintendo of America extends our mission of increasing accessibility to competitive play to even more students in North America.  The featured Nintendo Switch games are immensely popular, and we’re excited to expand them into middle schools starting this Fall.”

Now Enables for Both High School And Middle School 

The game offers a structured esports platform that now enables both high school and middle school students to engage in organized competitive gameplay. It supports students, coaches, educators, and parents in a thriving esports community.

Under the agreement, PlayVS will keep offering students in grades 6-12 the opportunity to compete in popular Nintendo games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Splatoon 3, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. These titles have been central to PlayVS leagues, where students vie for state-sanctioned high school championships. Moreover, the program’s expansion to include middle schools significantly broadens access to competitive gaming.

Nintendo of America, a subsidiary of Nintendo Co., Ltd., oversees the distribution and marketing of Nintendo products across the Americas, famed for developing iconic gaming franchises including Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Pokémon.

Since the start of their partnership, over $2.1 million in Nintendo equipment and games have been donated, reducing the barriers to entry for students interested in esports and to increase participation, PlayVs and Nintendo of America will provide the school no-cost hardware and software
