Microsoft Japan has found a new technique for more productivity to the Monday morning woes and it is nothing but a three-day weekend and surprisingly it led to a 40% increase in the productivity of its workforce.
Earlier in August, Microsoft Japan has introduced Work-Life Choice Challenge Summer 2019, under the ‘Working Reform Project’, and they also included a three-day weekend for its employees. The result of a four-day working week was surprising as the productivity increased by 40%.
According to the report, employees took less leave and that too 25% fewer than before during the month and also they used 23% less electricity. It can be guessed that the major factor in increasing productivity was the number of meeting. Due to a four-day week, the meetings which conducted were shorter than before and there were many meetings which conducted virtually.
92.1% of employees have already supported the idea and Microsoft Japan now plans to implement the idea once again in the near future as well.
