Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne-Moss set to make a fourth Matrix movie

The fourth film in the Matrix series is all set to take the floor.

Behind the Scene

Warner Bros. has announced the fourth Matrix film with the original casts Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss who will portray their iconic roles as Neo and Trinity, respectively. Lana Wachowski will write and direct the sequel which is expected to begin the production next year.

However, the news came earlier this year after the rumours from John Wick: Chapter 3 director Chad Stahelski that the Wachowski sisters are all set to work on a new instalment of the franchise movies, although fans have been waiting for this new Matrix film since the third instalment — The Matrix Revolutions — was released in 2003.

Although, Lana Wachowski is returning for the fourth film, but not her sister Lilly, who co-directed and co-wrote the original three films. Screenwriters Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell will be there alongside Lana.

“We could not be more excited to be re-entering The Matrix with Lana,” said Warner Bros. Pictures Group chairman Toby Emmerich, announcing the news. “Lana is a true visionary — a singular and original creative filmmaker — and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in The Matrix universe.”

Details

Although there are virtually no details available yet on the Matrix sequel, twenty years have passed since the first one was released. While Computer-generated imagery (CGI) has turned to special effects, DVDs took place of videotapes which The Matrix captured beautifully. It’s a movie ever remembering to everyone.

The Matrix grossed $463 million in the ticket sales all around the world and got a huge success with the Matrix franchise, which included video games, an animated feature and two more movies – Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions, both were released in 2003.
