Eamonn Holmes brands Meghan as ‘manipulative’ and “uppity”: Live on air

Eamonn said She is playing the role of her life

The Morning presenter Eamonn took a brutal takedown at the Duchess of Sussex live on his talk radio show on Thursday, quoting her to be ‘manipulative’ in persuading her husband’s thoughts at the royal couple’s recent decision of stepping down from the traditional heritage.

THE TUG OF WAR ASSUMES A CRITICAL SHAPE

Eamonn said “She is playing the role of her life. I just find her incredibly irritating,” and added, “I’ve never met her either but I look at her and I think, ‘I don’t think I would like you in real life,'”. “‘ You are just that awful, woke, weak, manipulative, spoilt.’

His remarks come in the face of his previous pullout from the former “Suits star on This Morning” show which was earned for similar comments and termed Meghan ‘uppity’ while discussing her reported ban on pictures at Wimbledon last summer
saying, “If you have an uppity attitude, you’re only through the door two minutes and suddenly you’re sitting at Wimbledon and your royal protection are saying, ‘No photographs, no photographs!'”

TRACING THE ORIGIN OF RACISM

The term ‘Uppity’ traces to the historical origin of black people in a derogatory way who ‘didn’t know their place’ in the US. ITV’s head of diversity Ada Rawcliffe wrote back to one of the viewers explaining the show host Eamonn didn’t spell the term deliberately and was unaware of its cultural connotations, saying “We are not saying that ignorance is in any way a defence, he was using the term to describe what he interpreted as arrogance.”
“The origins of the term have now been explained to Eamonn and the wider editorial team and it won’t be used again. We apologise for any offence that this may have caused you.”
However, a spokesman for the broadcaster revealed in a statement “It is absolutely untrue to state that Eamonn was reprimanded in any way for his use of language.”
