Did Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Marry Before their Public Wedding? Here’s what!

In the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey earlier this month, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Church Heads of England, spoke to clarify the remarks made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle about their marriage. Meghan said, “three days before our public wedding, we got married” in an interview with Oprah Winfred earlier this month.

Who Officiated Harry and Meghan’s Marriage?

At St. George’s Chapel, Meghan and Harry hitched publicly, which was officiated by Justin Welby on May 19, 2018. Justin Welby spoke to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica and expressed that he signed the wedding certificate on Saturday, May 19, 2018. He also added that he would have committed a criminal offense if he signed the papers knowing the marriage was fake. 

Did Justin Welby Meet the Duke and Duchess of Sussex before their marriage?

Justin Welby, the head of Church, has confirmed that he met Meghan Markle and Prince Harry several times before their wedding. He further added, he would not disclose anything about the meetings which were held before their wedding.
Justin Welby mentioned that if anyone from the media talks to a priest, they will not disclose confidentiality. 

Meghan, in the interview with Oprah              

While speaking to Oprah, Meghan claimed that three days before Prince Harry’s and Meghan Markle’s public marriage, they tied a knot in private. Along with this, she made a bombshell comment on their wedding saying that, She, Prince Harry met Justin Welby before their marriage and asked the head of the ChurchChurch to tie their knot, as they wanted unison between them.

The Public wedding is a spectacle for the world. They had also framed a vow in their room, which only has Meghan, Prince, and Justin Welby, Meghan stated.

In the same interview, Meghan stated that she faced racism and incorrigible treatment from the royal household.

However, a spokesperson for the Royal Family confirmed that Meghan and Harry were married on May 19, 2018, not three days earlier.

“I, Harry, take you, Meghan, to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to Gods’ holy law, in the presence of God, I make this vow,” Harry said.

Meghan said, “I, Meghan, take you, Harry, to be my husband to have and to hold from this day forward, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part, according to God’s holy law in the presence of God, I make this vow.”

Meghan and Harry modernized their vows on May 19, 2018, on their wedding day. Justin Welby was a guest in their marriage on that Saturday.

After being Baptized, Meghan Markle is a member of the Church of England, stated Justin Welby before two months of their marriage. Archie too was baptized in a closeted ceremony at Windsor Castle in 2019.
