During a Raising Cane’s employee appreciation conference in Cancún, Mexico, on Monday, Sept. 23, the rapper, Snoop Dogg, 52, participated in a Q&A session with the fast food chain’s owner and founder, Todd Graves. Snoop praised his wife, Shante Broadus during the event.
“I have So Much Trust And Faith In My Wife”
When Graves, 52, asked Snoop how he manages to stay grounded and find time for his family despite his hectic lifestyle, Snoop replied, “I attribute that to my wife. She’s like my backbone. You got to have trust and faith in other people, and I have so much trust and faith in my wife … when it comes to my family, my grandkids,” as reported by People.
He noted that Broadus, 52, had FaceTimed him from Disneyland in California just before he spoke at the event at the Moon Palace resort. The “Drop It Like It’s Hot” musician added, “Those are the types of things that she does for me.”
“I don’t know how to find time. I give her permission to give me time and to make time for those love moments and those special moments with the people that I care about the most,” added Snoop. “Because I work so hard, and sometimes [I] can forget that they exist because [I’m] so focused on working. And I trust the fact that she keeps that always at the top of my mind.”
Snoop Dogg Reflects on His Deep Bond with Wife
Snoop met Broadus as a teenager while attending Long Beach Polytechnic High School in the 1980s. The couple tied the knot in 1997.
In a recent PEOPLE cover story, Snoop shared his thoughts about his wife, stating, “She understands me. She’s a great mother, a tremendous grandmother, an excellent wife and a great friend. She knows how to push all of my buttons to make me act a motherf—ing fool or to make me act cool, and I love it.”
“Family is everything. What makes me the happiest in my life right now is for my wife to be happy, and everybody in my family to be healthy, and to be on one accord, which is love,” he added.
