Jason Duggar, the 12th child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, married his girlfriend Maddie Grace in a “breathtaking” fall ceremony on Oct. 3, 2024, at The Estate at Sweetwater Creek, with 300 family members and friends in attendance.
“Just Being Able To See Everybody In One Place”
Before the couple’s nuptials, Maddie shared with PEOPLE that they were excited to celebrate the joyful occasion with their loved ones. “Just having everybody together just to celebrate us, because you never get another day in your life where all of your loved ones are together,” Maddie stated.
“Especially for us, because I’m from Tennessee, and so half my family lives in Tennessee and Kentucky, and then we’re moving to Arkansas.
“Just being able to see everybody in one place. It’s just a big party where everybody gets together.”
The couple decided to exchange vows in Maddie’s home state of Newport, Tenn., because the “gorgeous” mountains and scenery were “just perfect” for their fall-themed wedding.
The two initially connected on Instagram in December 2023.
When planning their wedding, family was a top priority for the couple. Eight of Jason’s siblings were part of the wedding party, with Jedidiah Duggar serving as the best man. James Duggar, Justin Duggar, and Jackson Duggar were also groomsmen. Maddie’s bridesmaids included Johanna Duggar, Jennifer Duggar, Jordan Duggar, and Josie Duggar, the youngest of the Duggar family.
Guests Engage in Heartfelt Ring Warming Ceremony
The couple’s guests played a meaningful part in the wedding ceremony by participating in a special “ring warming” tradition, where they prayed over the rings before they were exchanged.
Jason donned a tan suit paired with a white tie, while his groomsmen wore matching suits with coordinating ties, all selected from Macy’s.
The bride walked down the aisle to Sleeping at Last’s romantic ballad “Turning Page,” meeting her husband-to-be at the altar, where their longtime pastor officiated the ceremony.
At the reception, the couple chose an Italian menu as a nod to their upcoming honeymoon in Italy. Instead of a traditional cake, they served cheesecake and ice cream for dessert. The celebration ended with a lively dance party with family and friends.
