In a recent interview with CR Fashion Book, Angelina Jolie, 49, revealed that she and her 16-year-old daughter Vivienne got matching tattoos while working together on the Broadway musical The Outsiders.
“It Means So Much To Us”
“I got ‘Stay Gold’ with my daughter Viv during our time with The Outsiders,” Jolie revealed. The phrase refers to the title of an original song from the play, which Jolie co-produced with Vivienne’s help.
“It means so much to us separately and together,” She added that she revealed the tattoo in April during the opening night of the Broadway play.
The tattoo is located on the actress’s wrist, alongside her other tattoos, but she did not specify where Vivienne’s version of “Stay Gold” is placed.
In her first cover shoot and interview for CR Fashion Book’s October issue, Jolie made a striking impression while discussing motherhood, her career, and her fashion brand, Atelier Jolie. Her remarks about the shared tattoo with her daughter Vivienne follow her involvement as a lead producer in The Outsiders.
“There is also a Bird that I share with some of my children that is personal to us,” she told CR Fashion Book.
Jolie also shared insights about what her children have taught her, stating, “There are too many to count or name just one. But the moment you become a parent you are never first again. Your life is for another. It’s a beautiful feeling.”
Jolie Reflects On The Inspiration Behind Atelier Jolie
In another part of the interview, the actress and activist discussed how she conceived the idea for her fashion brand, Atelier Jolie, which launched in May 2023.
“My intention was to build a space — a home, really — for people to create and be inspired. The house is comprised of artists and designers from around the world, and at the heart is an invitation to re-engage in design and build community,” she told CR Fashion Book.
“I wanted to build a collective with artists and designers who inspire me and are creating in a way that challenges overconsumption … There’s only one rule for our guests in residence: they cannot only create for themselves. They have to contribute to the community, to trade or teach or entertain,” she added.
